LGBTQ+ Youth and Allies

Live Out Loud presents Behind the Scenes with Playwrights Horizons

In partnership with a variety of companies, Live Out Loud invites students to connect with a panel of LGBTQ+ professionals, hear their stories, and learn what it’s like to be out and proud at work. Through the Behind the Scenes program, LGBTQ+ youth meet and learn from adult role models from our partner company, and engage in fun activities specific to that company’s mission and values.

Spring Slam

It’s that time of year again. What time, you ask? Time for THE SPRING SLAM!
I’m Mr. Simon — I work for Rosie’s Theater Kids and the PPAS High School MT program, and have enjoyed directing The SLAM for the past couple of years.
The SLAM is for all kinds of talent: song, dance, comedy, monologue, poetry reading, etc. and will be Friday, April 30th, 2020 @ 7:00p. There will be a tech rehearsal prior to this, TBD once auditions are concluded.
All pieces in the slam should aim to be around 3 minutes, no more than 4, and should be SCHOOL APPROPRIATE.
Auditions are this Thurs/Fri, April 8,9 from 4:30-7:30. If you have something you’d like to share, please sign up for an audition slot here BY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 7. If there is more than one performer involved, only ONE person should sign up for a slot — there will be an opportunity on the signup sheet to list any other performers.
Once I have the full schedule for auditioners, I will send out an email with the schedule and a zoom link.
Thanks!
-Mr. Simon
